The fluorescent bathroom light flickers and sometimes doesn’t turn on. Shower temperature control is overly sensitive, rapidly switching from hot to cold, and the bathroom sealant is problematic with black mold present. Breakfast experience is subpar, featuring luke warm options and items, like toast, lacking essential components such as actual bread. Reception was unable to assist with local taxi arrangements, leading to additional inconvenience.

Though centrally located, staff service left much to be desired. I observed them working excessive hours, which seemed to impact their energy and attentiveness.

I stayed 2 nights in a Superior Double or Twin Room. The colonial vibe is charming, with authentic wood furnishings. It’s just a short trip to markets and restaurants. Super comfy and everything you need. Also, it's an easy drive to the airport! 🌟

The hotel has a beautifully traditional style, with

well-maintained wooden rooms and a lovely atmosphere. The pool is a nice touch for relaxation, while the staff are notably helpful. However, the breakfast experience did not meet my expectations in terms of variety and temperature.

The colonial architecture of Chanthapanya captured my attention right away. The authentic wooden furniture added a unique charm to the decor. The pool area provided a relaxing spot to unwind after exploring Vientiane. My room, the Superior Double, was spacious and well equipped, making it comfortable for my stay. Unfortunately, the breakfast was underwhelming with limited choices and lukewarm food. The staff appeared to be overworked, which was noticeable in their energy levels and attentiveness. The reception had trouble with taxi arrangements, adding some inconvenience. Overall, a solid hotel but with room for improvement.

The Family Junior Suite was spacious with comfy beds, ideal for relaxing after a day exploring Vientiane. Nearby, you can hit up Noy's Fruit Heaven for fresh juices or Moon Cafe for a tasty bite. The hotel also offers a beautiful colonial decor that adds to the charm!

However, we encountered a chilly surprise in room 203 with a cold shower! Morning attempts to fix it left us with either frigid water or lukewarm conditions—definitely not fun for washing hair. Plus, the breakfast was mediocre, and we found taxi transfer costs inflated. The hotel quoted 300,000 Kip to the train station, while we got a ride for 150,000 Kip. Seems like there’s room for improvement!

I truly enjoyed my stay at Chanthapanya Hotel. The stunning colonial architecture and spacious Superior Double or Twin Room were delightful. Additionally, the location provided convenient access to local attractions, making my trip even more enjoyable.

We had a good time, especially enjoying the stunning colonial architecture and our spacious Family Junior Suite with great decor. Although the breakfast was a bit underwhelming, we'd definitely stay again!

The Family Junior Suite was super spacious and had comfy beds, which was a plus for us! The AC worked great even in the heat. The decor was nice too, especially in the breakfast area. However, it did have some maintenance needs, and breakfast could’ve been a bit better – they often ran out of things. Still, it was a good value for the money!
